Welcome
Hi there! I'm Arri, a dynamic NYC-based artist who lives for creating, performing, and sharing the magic of musical theatre with the world.
About
Arri Lawton Simon is an award-winning multi-disciplinary musical theatre professional, whose accolades highlight his versatility and commitment to the arts. Born in Wichita, Kansas, to artistic parents, creativity has always been a cornerstone of his life.
After earning his B.M. in Composition and Vocal Performance from the prestigious Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University, Arri moved to New York City in 2011, quickly making a mark in the vibrant arts scene. Whether he’s embodying a character on stage, refining a melody, or helping others find their voice, Arri thrives on creative collaboration and community engagement.
Need a little help with his first name? Often “Miss Mispronounced,” Arri has come up with this handy mnemonic to help you out: “Arri, the faerie from the prairie.” Now you won’t forget :)

Appearing frequently with Jeremy Stolle, a notable Phantom of Broadway, Arri puts inventive spins on classic Broadway rep, opera, contemporary pop and R&B, tackling everything from Puccini to Pasek & Paul.
Composing & Writing
As half of the writing team McGuire & Simon, Arri is a composer, lyricist, and bookwriter for the stage and other media. Notable works include: The Bubble (based on the Fox/Uchovsky film of the same name), Express (originally created for the New York Transit Museum), and Kibby The Space Dog (a TYA commission for Wichita Children’s Theatre & Dance Center).
Committed to impeccable craftsmanship, the team consistently delivers memorable melodies and explores adventurous subject matter. With an eye towards pioneering new directions in musical theatre, they honor its rich legacy while daring to expand its boundaries.
Their collaboration began at the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop, where Arri received the Jerry Harrington Award for Outstanding Creative Achievement and now serves on the Workshop Steering Committee.
Their work has been developed at the Dramatists Guild Foundation Fellowship, Goodspeed Musicals, New York Theatre Barn, Rhinebeck Writers Retreat, and others.
Beyond the stage, Arri writes both sacred and secular choral music, and music for film and dance. Some notable compositions include the score for Chaplin’s The Kid, commissioned by the Tallgrass Film Festival, the contemporary ballet Freedom’s Fancy at SAFEHouse Arts San Francisco, and the music for the illustrated short film “Hearts to Half", produced by Dori Berenstein.
